ROCKFORD, Ill., April 22, 2026 – The International Women’s Baseball Center (IWBC) announced today that it is offering specially priced tickets for the Chicago White Sox “Gameday for the Girls” promotion on Saturday, May 9, when the White Sox face the Seattle Mariners at 6:10 p.m. CT at Rate Field in Chicago. Through this dedicated offer, fans can purchase tickets for any seats at the May 9 game and support IWBC, the world’s leading nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and advancement of girls and women’s baseball. Since 2014, IWBC’s programs have included hosting free youth camps, leagues and tournaments, educational conferences, community events, major events like the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women’s Baseball World Cup 2026-27, and curating partnerships with global brands like the White Sox.
“We’re proud to collaborate with the Chicago White Sox on this powerful celebration of girls and women in baseball,” said Dr. Kat Williams, IWBC CEO. “The IWBC has long been at the forefront of preserving and advancing the game for girls and women around the world, and we’re grateful for this platform in bringing our mission to a global stage. Now it’s time for fans of baseball and women’s sports to show up — join us in packing Rate Field for Gameday for the Girls as we help build the game’s future!”
In addition to supporting the IWBC, the White Sox will provide 15,000 ticketed fans who enter the gates on Gameday for the Girls with a Women’s Athleisure Jacket, presented by RUSH. The organization also will welcome fans for several exciting pregame elements, including a “Get Ready with Me” activation featuring hair stylists and nail prep areas near Gate 5, a BMO Local Business Hub welcoming local women-owned businesses and all-female band performances across the tailgates at Rate Field.
“We’re proud to help spotlight organizations like IWBC that are growing the game and creating more opportunities for girls and women in baseball,” explains Jeff Bogacki, White Sox senior director of group ticket sales. “This ticket offer will be complemented by thoughtfully curated programming throughout the ballpark, showcasing female fandom and celebrating the role of women in shaping the game.”
IWBC’s special White Sox ticket offer underscores what is shaping up to be another banner year in 2026. This summer, IWBC will host the grand re-opening of historic Beyer Stadium at Maybelle Blair Park (date to be announced) and the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup Group Stage (July 22-26, 2026). Hosted the next two summers by IWBC alongside U.S. presenting sponsor GoRockford, the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup features the world’s best women’s baseball players competing during a Group Stage in 2026 and Finals Stage in 2027. Japan has won the last seven World Cups, while Team USA won the first two titles in 2004 and 2006. Other perennial top teams include Australia, Canada, Chinese Taipei, Korea, and Mexico, among others.
IWBC also remains poised to deliver holistic impact for future generations. After receiving $4.25 million in project commitments in 2025, IWBC hosted a groundbreaking ceremony in Fall 2025 to commence the Phase One restoration of Beyer Stadium at Maybelle Park. Scheduled for completion this summer, the Stadium’s upgrades include: a professional-grade natural grass field suitable for local-to-international play, the Cohen Bleachers, Amazin’ Mets Foundation Press Box, Musco lighting, an outdoor recreation and walking path area, a women’s baseball gallery, updates to the historic ticket booth, and landscaping enhancements.
